move a domain between DA servers

i backuped a couuple of domains from a reseller. after that i move it i pass those to another DA servers, but nonow when i want to restore it it shows this error:

"You do not own the IP 200.32.4.18. User ayncomar will not be created"

How can i disasociate that ip?
The ip shouldnt be fixed in the domain i think....

Well. finally i did it, but it;'s a time consuming task, it should be an easy way.

When yo have the backup, decompress and edit with pico or similar:
/backup/user.conf
/backup/domain.com/domain.conf

In those files you have to change the old ip to the new one. Then type:

tar cvf user.tar domain backup
gzip user.tar

Also note that youu have? to change the dns file.. but in my case i use centra dns, so.. less work for me

i forgot. At last chown for yor reseller name in the group permissions. In 'user' root owner is ok. Seet also to 640.

Can't you just follow the instructions at http://www.directadmin.com/change_ip.txt. Start from the "Download the ipswap.sh script".

if IP != owned-IP, IP = default-server-IP

If i have to momve some domains from my servers in argentina to mines in USA, i can jst puut mi argentinian ip on the new one..

Hello,

When using the restore part of the Resellers Backup Management system, there is the option to either use the IP in the file, or specify the IP from your current list. If creating the account from a different server (As in your case), you'll need to check off the "Use the IP from the list:" option in Step 2 of the restore, and then just select the IP you want the account to have.
