Move accounts between servers

Not sure if anyone has ever asked for this before, but it's something that would be a great help.

cPanel has the ability to scp an entire account from one server to another. Like to see simular function in DA.

I know it's not difficult to move sites, but it is tedious if you have a lot of them.

Also, you run into the issue of having to be sure that the account names are same, etc.

Be easier to just log into the receiving server, specify the losing servers IP, login info and the account name and let DA do the rest. :)

I suppose one could write a plugin to do this.
 
Pending an official implementation of this, it would be great to have an official, supported instruction file, maintained by the DirectAdmin developers and kept up-to-date, that tells us how to make a complete backup of an account, and then how to restore it onto a new server with 100% reliability.

I have seen various instructions posted, but invariably they are followed by people saying they did not work exactly because something was missing and had to be manually diagnosed and fixed.

A set of accurate and reliable manual backup + restore instructions are the next best thing to an automatic mechanism for moving accounts.

LOL who knows when that was posted though. Look at the first line about FreeBSD. The guys are busy and I am sure it would be a pain at this point but they really should go through the site and bring things up-to-date. Heck just fixing a page or two a day would get things pretty good ina week.
 
Ah, didn`t read good enough...
It just gave me some hope because I`m going to do a server to server transfer next month, but seems like I have to do it the old way..
 
This is a major request that have to be done. i know i dont speak for my self here but most of us own more then 1 lic of DA.

so yes , agreed i like to see this
