Hi,

I have a reseller who is wanting to move to their own dedi server. Both servers are running direct admin obviously and are both running CentOs. Could you please tell me if there is an easy way to do this move?

Thanks.

Do a reseller backup.

Create a reseller under the same name on the new server, and set up the reseller with all the same settings.

The restore the reseller on the new server and delete it from the old server.

Hi thanks for the reply. I have done that but is complaining because im using a different IP now to the old server.

Any ideas?

Direct admin gives the following via the message system:

User access.tar.gz has been restored
Unable to exact backup/user.conf from /home/tmp/admin/fy.tar.gz : Error while extracting backup/user.conf to /home/tmp/admin/fy as diradmin :
gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
/bin/tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
/bin/tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

and also:

You don't have permission to restore user xyz

Nothing to do with changing DNS; as you do the restore DA should ask you if the you want to use the IP or change it.

I'd suggest looking at who owns the file.
