Hey.

Does anyone run VMware Debian and Directadmin too ?

Well, I really have problems with it. Not sure if it's the OS or VMware causing it. Suddenly some day the OS crashes giving 100% CPU usage and no website is accessible until I restart the VPS through VMware remote console. I read something about a compatiblity issue of VMware with the Guest OS's kernel and that it only works on old kernels. I don't know why it worked fine for 4 months and just caused problems now. The directadmin support guy however did a few things at my server and I started getting this bad stuff . If anyone knows about this issue, that's great .

Otherwise,
I thought of moving Directadmin including all it's users, websites, website's files, databases and all the settings of Directadmin of course to a proper Dedicated server . I am currently using DA on Debian 5.0 Lenny and like to install DA on Debian 5.0.6 i386 ( Or any other OS of course if you advice ) . I just want my files, databases, users and everything related to be restored.

So please tell me how it's done and what about moving License or I have to take a new license ?

Whether or not you'll need a new license depends on how/where you got your current license. If it was supplied by your VPS provider, it's their license; not yours to use.

If you purchased it from DirectAdmin, then it's yours to keep but if it's a special license for VPS, then you can't run it on a dedicated server.

You should contact DirectAdmin Sales.
