Hi there,

So in the past, I've followed https://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=2255 to move the mail partition on one host. However, I need to move some again, but the convert script in the link above is no good, as it only checks for the original location. I'm happy to rsync the destinations and make any necessary changes, but I'm not sure what it is that DA does when converting / migrating the mail partition. Any suggestions or directions?

Thanks!

might want to create a link from the current partition to the default location?
I believe the script should follow your link, and treat it as if it's a move from default location to new location.

btw, why are you hording old mail nobody will read? , download it using SMTP to outlook, and export it to a .pst file for archive... sounds like a better solution.

Great idea! Unfortunately that didn't work. In the end, I mirrored current imap location with default imap location and new imap location, and then ran the script, which was instantaneous as they were already in sync, then removed current imap and default imap and replaced with symlink for good measure.

As for archiving old email- that certainly makes sense. But if a customer's paying, I don't argue.
