Dear other DirectAdmin users,

I'm setting up 2 servers with multiserver setup. Both servers have it working but i have one problem. If i create a domein on 1 server, the other does take the settings over, but it looks like the DNS is not reachable, but the port is open...

What could the problem be?
Kinds regards

It appears that your DNS is pointing to ns1.mortydot.com and to ns2.mortydot.com.

Since ns2.mortydot.com and ns5.mortydot.com are two different servers; DNS is probably looking in the wrong place.

Jeff

Changed that, but stil no changes

* secondary name server "ns5.mortydot.com." [BROKEN]
Failure: name server at 195.216.246.2 cannot be reached: (unknown error)
The name server could not be contacted, which may be due to temporary
technical problems or global DNS configuration mistakes. The internal
error is shown, but not always clear about the cause.
Looks like the server does not anser, but the if i ping the IP/firewall port, its open. The service is running as wel on the "not working" server/

Any other options or places I can check that settings are still fine?

Kinds regards

Is the server at 195.216.246.2 under your control? Is it running BIND? If it's not your server, or if you don't know if it's running BIND, then why are you attempting to use it?

Jeff

Dear jlasman,

195.216.246.2 is under my control, bind is running, and the firewall is open.
I have set up the muli server thing and tested it on both sites. It seems to been working fine.

But every time when I'm trying to get DNS data from it trough a domein controle check, it fails, just if the server does not anser!

I cant figer out what the problem could be...
Any sugestions?

If it can't be reached from the outside world then either it's not running, it's not answering on public IP#s, or the proper port number (should be UDP port 53), or the firewall isn't open for UDP port 53 in both directions.

Or it's being blocked somewhere else on the 'net, but I doubt that.
