It seems that it is possible to have an external mysql server running for DirectAdmin.

This will work without any problems when I just have 1 DirectAdmin server running, but what if I have 10 DirectAdmin servers and want to run 1 external mysql server, will this work?

Every DirectAdmin server has its 'admin' details, right? Where is this information stored? If it is stored on mysql, it means that I will have 10 duplicate content on the mysql server and this will break DirectAdmin?

DA doesnt use MySQL for his own data, just files.

I dont think there will be any problem using 1 Ext MySQL Server and multiple DA Server, the only problem should appear is on using same username on different server (same db name i mean like admin_db on multiple server).

Using different customer's username will not give any error.

For admin use, i suppose that all the admin of all the da server will have access to all the admin_* databases on the ext mysql server.

Ive never tested this, is just my idea, maybe DA staff or someone that already used that way can confirm or not my suggestions.

Well should also work da_admin@% but with same password for all and port 3306 closed by firewall and using whitelisting just for the interested server.
