Multiple IPs on a server. (Some questions about it.)

Hello everyone,

I have been running DirectAdmin on a VPS for a couple of years now.
I always have just one IP for everything. (And did not really feel a need for more.) And now my host is starting to allow an additional IP as an add-on for VPSs. (So 2 IP in total.)

After some research I could not really find any good information on what the advantages/disadvantages are on having multiple IP for the same server.
So my question is if there is someone who can explain the advantages and disadvantages (If any) of having multiple IPs for the same server.

You can run your own nameservers. Which is already a benefit when using LE wildcards for example.
It's not yet as should be, but a beginning. Otherwise if you have other VPS systems, that would be even better, because you then could use the multiserver setup for redundant DNS system by using the secondary ip's.

Disadvantages.. hmmz.. don't know.
