MX record confusion

I just helped a client to switch domain registrars. In the process, I've moved his web hosting over to my DA server. My DA server is now acting as NameServer for this domain. I'm running into problems with the MX records. This client is using a Verizon hosted email services, so I've changed the DNS record to reflect this...
Code:
mta1.bizmailsrvcs.net.	MX	10
mta2.bizmailsrvcs.net.	MX	20

Here's the problem.... I can't send email to my own client. My email goes through the same DA server that's hosting my new client's domain. Now I CAN send email to my client via other email methods (yahoo, gmail, etc). So it seems that my email server isn't paying attention to own DNS info.

Sorry if I haven't described this well enough.

When changing the MX records did you uncheck the box for "Use this server to handle my emails."

Floyd, I don't recall seeing any checkbox like that. Is there a place I can go in DA to see its current status for this domain?

I think I may understand now. You probably changed the MX records from the Admin panel and not the User panel.

Make sure you have DNS Control enabled for the user and then login as the user. Then click on the MX records link. You will see the box there.

Yes, that was it exactly. I made the change and now find that email is working as expected. Gracias!
