Mximum number of entries in the "DNS Administration"

What is the maximum number of entries in the "DNS Administration" (eg, A records)?
I added using "DirectAdmin API delegation of subdomains over 4000 but subsequent entries are added very very slowly.

I don't know if there is an actual limit or not, but the slowdown occurs because every time you add a line the file is completely rewritten.

DirectAdmin isn't optimized for managing large zones; it's optimized for simple zones in a shared webhosting environment.
