Hello,
I would like to upgrade to the latest MySQL 5.5.11 version but it will be incompatible with some client websites using CMSMS with MySQL 5.0. on a shared server.
Is it possible to handle two versions of MySQL on the same server?

Thanks.

Current server environment:
Redhat CentOS 5.0
Apache 2.2.11
DirectAdmin 1.38.3
MySQL 5.0.45
Php 5.2.13

Hello,

In certain circumstances it's possible. But it's not supported by directadmin. To have different MySQL versions, you need two different versions of PHP, while PHP is complied against certain MySQL version.

Anyway, you might want to hire somebody to do it for you, as it is not that simple to do, if you're have no enough skills in system administrating.

Thanks,
So the easiest way (but costly) would be to prepare a second server to handle a brand new version of MySQL with Directadmin as well!
