mysql crashes and Da is too slow

I am having issues with mysql connection hanging, so I enter DA to restart mysqld, but its way too slow, and when I do get to the service montiroa nd click on stop mysql, five minutes later it telles me anaerror occured and mysqld wasnt stopped.

what to do?

If you haven't enabled the MySQL slow log, do so (search these forums), and then check it whenever MySQL is running too slowly, to see which user is causing the problem.

Also make sure you've installed an optimzied mysql configuration file (see the DirectAdmin Knowledgebase.
