Hello everyone,

On a newly installed machine with da 1.281 the database function to download a backup of a DB (not phpmyadmin, but the download link in DA mysql section) gives me a bunch of garbled up characters.

At first site , it looks like it's either not compressing in gz or something:

The URL would be saomething like: http://xxx.xxx.xx.xx:2222/CMD_DB/myusersname_004.gz

and then a bunch of random looking ascii characters.

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance,

DA sometimes doesn't send the proper HTTP headers in its response that would force the data to be downloaded to a file instead of printed to the screen. The data you are seeing is binary data, basically the compressed version of your database information.
Right clicking the link and selecting 'Save target as' should make it work as expected.

Right on, thanks JTE. Well use that method for now.

Anyway to fix this ?

Thanks for the quick response and solution!

I used to have the same problem a while ago, but it appears to be solved in the newer DA versions. An older server that uses DA version 1.27.2 to which I have access does have the problem, my own server which I keep updated constantly doesn't give those problems, so just keeping DA up-to-date should solve the problem.

Ok, on this server I have 1.281 and the newer 1.282 seems to be features and fixes of other issues unrelated.

Thanks for the help though. At least my clients can do this in the mean time :)

Cheers !
