MySQL Upgrade from 4.1.10 to 4.1.x

how can i upgrade mysql from:

MySQL: 4.1.10

to

MySQL: 4.1.22

on Debian?

ehm.. that is mysql 5.x man, is working for 4.1.x too?

Yes, just change the version number and that's it.

ok man, thanks, ive made that package, now what ive to do for install it?

tar xzvf [B]package[/B].tar.gz

Replace package with package name, e.g. mysql-4.1.22-debian4.0-i386. And move mysql directory to /usr/local.

Then execute:

cd /usr/local
rm -f mysql
ln -s [B]package[/B] mysql
chown -R mysql:mysql /usr/local/mysql
cd mysql
rm -rf data
ln -s /home/mysql ./data
chown -R mysql:mysql /home/mysql

ln -s package mysql

is not better if i move directly package/* into mysql dir?
