How do I get directadmin to upgrade mysql to the latest version

or...

How can I upgrade mysql to the latest version without it damaging DA in anyway.

DA Does not handle Software upgrades (other than itself) automatically. You must do it.

There are 3rd Party Scripts that will attempt to update MySQL for you though.

There is a MySQL update tool for RedHat and FreeBSD there

Just check the Version Updates forum once in a while. There is usually announcments and such about new updgrades that DA doesn't necassarily handle.
