Hi,

I am having trouble trying to start MySQL from Direct Admin's Service Monitor page on my Virtuzzo VPS (RHE & FC1). The page will time out after trying to refresh forr a minute and one of the DirectAdmin threads will show up as a zombie when doing a ps-auxf.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I can restart MySQL just fine from the command line and I can do:

"su - mysql" and run mysqld.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hal

I'd think the best place to get help from would be your VDS provider. Have you asked them for help?

I also run VPS with Virtuozzo support.

This is what I have learned with my system (yours may differ):

MySQL will always show as NOT running. The Virtuozzo Control panel is not able to start or stop this service. We look at DA panel for service control.

Also, when POP3 is running, it shows as stopped in DA but Virtuozzo shows it as running. We use SSH to control this service

We were told this is due to a conflict between Virtuozzo and DA, though running Virtuozzo with DA does not impede the services from running.

That's interesting regarding mySQL. I am having the same issue. I wonder if that is causing the problem. I'll have to look into this further to see if I can get mySQL to be properly reported in VMC and the Power Panel.

Thanks for your help!

you could only begin to guess how nice it would be to get it all working in 'both' panels! :)
