Need help setting up the DNS

Hi to all,

I'm new on using the DA interface, so, how can I setup the DNS for using a slave?

Can it be done through the DA interface or do I need to change the named.conf to allow slaves?

You can do this by using the DA interface

Reseller level => nameservers

You have to set it up manually and there probably wont be anything in directadmin at all for that.

Are you asking how to set up Slave DNS on DirectAdmin?

If so search these forums for the Multi-Server Option; that works if you also have a DirectAdmin license on the machine doing the slave DNS.

Or search these forums for Master2Slave DNS Replicator you can use that even if the slave machine isn't running DirectAdmin, but it's my (open source and free) product, not supported directly by DirectAdmin, and it does require setup on both Master and Slave nameserver machines.

Ho to All and thanks, and yes I was asking how to do it.

My client has a Box on a provider that runs DA but he also as its DNS secondaries forwarded to it's ISP.

What I'm doing is transferring the DNS primary to the external box.

I will search the topics you suggested.
