NEED HELP to set off the Magic_quotes_gpc at PHP.INI file

I am trying to install Joomla! version 3 and there is a starting problem because of the Magic_quotes_gpc has to be shut off.
The change has to be done within PHP.INI file but I can not find it via file manager or have no access to see and edit it.

Need help.

You need to ask your hosting provider if you dont have administrative access to the server.

You can try to set "php_flag magic_quotes_gpc off" in htaccess; if you get 500 server error you must ask your hosting company.
