2-3 years? It's almost 7 years old 
There aren't that many templates out there for DA. I think there are 3-4 providers and they are on this forum.

I disagree , a new theme will cause un-needed/wanted support tickets.

btw, you can create / modify the theme for your own needs,
i did it, added integration to my corp website with quick links to open tickets and live chat(beta)

While I agree, however:
1. If we change the template and clients log in - they'll be in for a shock! Doubt JBMC update the old skin to cater for existing clients;
2. Like, I have tutorials from DemoWolf, if they do a series with the new skin, it'll be costly to us.

Just for add 2 cent, there are differnt Skins (not provided by DirectAdmin Staff) that work really good.
Actually im using Capri Skin that you can find in this forum and previously ive used Marina Skin (that now came out with a new release called Marina Skin RS if im not wrong).
Ofc they are not for free, but, are very "nice to see" and i think that a 20$/lifetime for server (excluding discount on big amount) is a honest price for something like that.

i have capry licesne and more template.
but this isnat mean that directadmin staff do not creat new template.
because none of admins follow topcs like this about why... .
on the other hand there is more and usefull module/nice support department/ and ... on CPANEL.
and its our right to ask directadmin staff to solve these problems.
like why they answer ticket after 12 hour.
whey the do not work on new template to change this tired skin.
why should us pay more to make directadmin better
like new template and new module. which will be free on cpanel.
we pay for directadmin license so they must support their clients.
also if they make DA better and professional. it help them to sell directadmin and make clients happy ans i think these answer (to Q) are customer rights.
why customer must search forum and their documents hour and hour also use google to solve their problem.?

I prefer the stability and the feature added everytime instead a new face (ofcours i would like a new theme from directadmin but is not the main important thing for me)
Problem regarding the system administration should not be related to directadmin, but, just for information, this forum is not a support forum from directadmin, but is a user's forum where user help other user.

and every time i did, they replyed and solve my problem.
Maybe you wasnt lucky as me.. cant know that, but im using this panel since 7 years and work very nice.
never tryed cpanel and not my intention say that da is better or not and neither cant say how they work.

So...all websites should still look like it was 1999, because it's best not to fix what isn't broken 
The enhanced skin could do with an overhaul. It could go full Ajax, but at a minimum it should fix the usability issues. Duplication removal would be good as well.
The main problem with customising skins is that you increase your costs, because you will have to maintain that version.

the problem isnt for answer respond . its about ask DA staff to work on new theme and directadmin feature.
i see that directadmin update every 6 month. i think its better to work harder and add new module o it.
any way.

I have used other control panels, I offer my clients the DA panel because it is by far the best. I paid for a skin offered here on the forum called Darwin, it does have a fresher look than the ones in DA, it did cost me a few bucks, but it was worth it.

For clarification, new skins are not high on our priority list right now. Although they may make it prettier by adding complexity with things like ajax, you're not going to gain anything with regards to functionality. Higher on our priority list are adding new features that do add more functionality (IPv6, other ftp options, better spam scanning), and fix existing issues/bugs as they're found.
If anyone does find functionality issues with the current skins, please do let us know. They have been around for some time, thus they're quite solid, and that's the main thing, but the odd skin bug does still pop up from time to time (fewer and fewer though).

Many valid points in this thread. Both pros and con's to anything new.
I'll just say this.
When you pick up that girl you like for the first time, your not gonna take old faithful, your gonna take shiny and new. Once you get her onboard she won't mind old faithful so much.
Bottom line is a fresh modern interface could do nothing but make JMBC more money. Maybe they are where they want to be. That's fine to.
