I have two servers that need to be upgraded. Primarily I need to upgrade PHP to V5.
I am a website developer who over ten years ago started hosting sites so I would be able to better implement modules they may need for their site.
While I work in PHP, HTML, javascript, etc. I am very cautious when working with the server, Apache and related Linux software. My understanding of that is very limited and what I have done has been by following very specific direction.
The time has come where I absolutely have to upgrade these two boxes and I'm really scared. From the hours of research I've done I'm almost certain that attempting this on my own would lead to unacceptable downtime.
To further complicate matters and one of my chief concerns is I have some older versions of highly modified osCommerce sites on these servers.
I desperately need someone to help with this who feels comfortable with what is involved.
Hopefully we could do this in tandem to keep cost down as there are many task I could perform with direction.
These are my livelihood which is meager so I need to accomplish this as cheaply as possible although I do realize and will gratefully pay anyone who is a position to help.

Apache 1.3.31
