We hired a designer to do a redesign on one of our sites. I need to grant him access to install the new site. I can't find a way to give a user, retailer or admin access to a current domain. I still need to retain access as well.

I appreciate the input.

If you trust him you can give him your username/password and login information.

If you don't trust him you can create an ftp user for the domain with access at the public_html level.

with the ftp selections - there isn't actually one for the root of "public_html" ..

So I always have to create a custom directory path ..
**********
Domain: Ftp account with the root directory in the domains home directory (one up from the public_html)

Ftp: Ftp account with the root directory in the domains public_ftp directory

User: Ftp account with the root directory as the users name in the public_html directory

Custom:
************

How about

"Web: Ftp account with the root directory in the domains public_html directory (the websites direct public homepage)"

Can this be added? .. I thought that would be common sense.

We put it up one level from the public_html because there is also the private_html, as well as the public_ftp folders. They're also things that a designer could need access to. Of course, you may not want him to have private_html access, so the "custom" field could apply for any extra cases.
