need to extract tar.zst backup file in windows

How to extract my backup tar.zst in windows so I can have a look ?

Change it to tar.gz first in Linux, then open it with Winrar in Windows.
Or install the Zstandard in Windows.
Something like this maybe:

I use 7 Zip on Windows, it can extract that file for you

I didn't test but if you say 7zip can do it, then winrar can too.

You're wrong. Winrar does support .zst nowadays. Only 7-zip does not yet. As does 7-zip.

This post is obviously spam of some sort, but have you ever tried using 7-zip? It certainly does open .zst files.

Like today before I wrote it.... and it gave an error. Before I tested again I even downloaded the newest version 2023-06-20.
Maybe the error was caused by some temp leftover when trying with the old version before I installed the new one this afternoon, because now it does work.

Not sure why an older version didn't work for you. I've been using 7-zip for about ten+ years now and when I switched to DA (about two years ago), 7-zip worked on these files.

I don't know either. The version I had before was however several years old but as far I know I did update not too long ago, but that gave an error, same as Winrar 5.x.
So I installed the newest versions of both and Winrar worked instantly, but 7-zip gave the same error as it did before. Strangely enough.
But now it worked so I'm glad. I use 7-zip fairely rare, mostly Winrar because I can do everything with it and I'm used to it.

Now you made me curious, so I checked. Seems I did upgrade in juli 2022. First install in 2018 I found a descript.ion file from january 2018 but a lang directory from january 2022 where for example the fa.txt and uk.txt (and some others) was from juli 2022. I checked creation date of the .exe files (in fact the main directory), that was october 3rd 2022, so just a year ago.
Odd....
