Hello Everyone,

Out cliant uses the Microsoft Mail app. Now it got forcible upgraded tot de Outlook (new) consumer mail App.
In this app we can't login on IMAP.
When we try we got an login error:
"INVALIDCREDENTIALS TEMPORARILYUNAVAILABLE"
We do know that te login works, because the Outlook365 app can login succesvolly.
Only this client do not have Outlook365.

The old server not. Why i do not knwo, they got the same DA build and same Exim version.
SSL and DNS is also the same.

What could is be?

The new outlook does not work on a traditional way with IMAP. You will need to press advanced setup and fill in the server details.
Follow this:

You will need to have an online account so the IMAP Account will be synced and will not be on the computer but on the Microsoft servers. Also you can only see 30days of the mail in the IMAP account if it works.

about 30 days:

Any update on this topic? I got exactly the same issue.

My new installation server (3 months ago) with DirectAdmin works with de new outlook mail client, but an old server installation do not.
Why?, i do not know. Impact on my side is 1 person in our client file that have this issue, so i did not investigate it anymore and simply said "it is not supported" .

If it is exact same issue -You need to create online account with Microsoft as the app do not sync imap accounts to your computer but to MS one and read them from there

Then it is still strange that its working with every other e-mail then info@ - for example if I create [email protected] its working fine!

If you've used info@ with mobile Outlook or this Outlook semi-recently and then changed servers, it could fail for a few weeks. Microsoft stores the IMAP credentials on their server with these apps and then checks the mail from there. If they have the credentials and server on file and it differs from what you've input in the app now, it often silently ignores what you've input and uses what they have on file instead for an undetermined amount of time.

If you guys want to use these new apps with something that isn't Gmail, Office 365, or one of the other major platforms it supports then you'll just have to deal with the oddities of the application. Try not to call it a DA problem unless you've tailed the logs and confirmed a failed attempt to connect by the app.
