new domain can't be found

I've added a new domain and set up everything. DNS and email are setup, but I'm not recieving email or finding anything when I look for my website.

Any ideas?

Did you setup the domain on the dns servers that you are hosting on or forward the A record to the server it is being hosted on?

Is the dns server fully operational?

Is the dns server firewalled?

What is the domain?

Check the logs for errors.

everything is set up pretty much exactly like my original domain under the same hosting. The original works flawlessly.

Actually everything in the domain menu is identical except the domain name.

Are you sure the dns is working?

Does a lookup from another server work?

Go to ---> http://www.network-tools.com/

Select the lookup bubble.

Enter www.yourdomain.com

Does it come back with an ip address?

Check that your dns servers are valid and working on the domain by selecting the dns records bubble and entering your domain in the search query.

something is clearly messed up. Nothing was found in the lookup.

for the answer records it says stephenbivens.com 1 NS ns45a.8-95.com

direct admin DNS menu shows ns16a.8-95.com not 45.

You then need to change your dns servers where you registered your domain name at. Directadmin does not control which dns servers are setup to your domain.

So go to http://www.dixiesys.com/ where you registered your domain and change the dns servers on the domain.
