New server, do not receive emails

Hi,

I have recently moved on to a new server, and backed up/restored all the customers from the old one. DA.com did the new installation. The problem is that now i do not receive any external emails at all. I only receive emails from accounts hosted on the same server. What may be the problem?

The first thing to do is to check your /var/log/exim/mainlog file to see if the mail is even reaching the new server. If not, then it could be a DNS or a firewll problem.

Or it could be something simple, such as exim isn't running. Check that first.

You can check your firewall by by attempting to send mail from your desktop through the new server (use the IP# in your email program so you're sure it's using the new server).

If that works, then it may be a DNS problem. Check the DNS for the mx records for some of the domains not receiving email.
