Newbies questions about dns

Hello guys,

1. I want to assign (like windows) different ips (which I think is a good move) for mail server, ftp server, how can I do that? I already assigned 10 ips for server. Do you think that is not necessary? I have it so on my windows servers.
1.1.1.1 for www
1.1.1.2 for ftp
1.1.1.3 for smtp
1.1.1.4 for controlpanel

2. Do you recommend not using name server ips in other services or it is fine?
What must I do to not to make ns ips to be used?

3. Can you please simple tell me what "server, shared, free, reseller and user" words mean?

On the same machine separate ips are only needed for ssl transactions and anonymous ftp. Any other use is a waste if ip space.

I think you need to learn what ips do. Ips connect two computer together so they can communicate. It doesn't have anything to do with the software running on the server. Us can use one ip to connect to all the services running on a server.
