No mysqld pid file found

Max2000,

That's not going to work unless you're quite prescient, and can figure out what the contents is supposed to be.

The guys at PowerVPS got my MySQL running again! I probably just screwed it up.

The big problem was that I had no idea what user and pwd to use for connecting to mysql.

Turned out there was a user called da_admin with a password stored in some DA conf file. Once I found that, I was able to connect. Maybe this is documented somewhere, but I never saw it.

My experience with DirectAdmin (about 1 week now) has been one big self-guided tour of self-discovery and experimentation.

I can't imagine how lost I'd be without this community forum. That says a lot for this forum, but it doesn't say much for DirectAdmin's documentation, ease of setup, and especially the out of box experience (OOBE) for someone new to the software.

There are so many things that have to be setup or configured or optimized manually, and settings that are stored in various files, none of which appears to be documented outside these forums (unless I just haven't found these docs yet).
