I'm using DA 1.24.3 with my hosting provider, so no root access. I've set up a mailing list. When a sender "breaks" a rule for the list, they get no response. For example, I have the list set to limit posting to members only. If a non-member tries to post something, the message doesn't get posted, but there is no error message sent back to them. So say someone with multiple email addresses sends to the list from the wrong address, they have no idea why the message is not posted, just that it never shows up.
Another example is if someone sends a message to the list that exceeds the maximum message size. The message doesn't get posted, but they have no idea why.
Since I don't have root access, I can't see my maillogs. And since bounce messages are not getting generated, if there's a problem, I pretty much have to do trial-and-error testing to see what the problem is.
Is there a specific setting to enable bounce messages? I don't see one in DA, and my brief search of majordomo docs turned up empty as well. If this is something that should "just work", are there any recommendations on how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks in advance.
Seth
