Hi, i have a fedora core2 machine and i have directadmin as my control panel, whenever i give the commands ntsysv i see the status of stastup processes the prcesses that would be started up at boot time and it shows named not to be started at startup, but when i check status it shows that named is already running, so is directadmin starting them on its own,

On emore thing when my server boots it shows me multiple instances of directadmin running on may server, even if their are no external requests of directadmin, why is it so.

Plzz help

It is possible that DirectAdmin's service monitor catches named when the server starts.
I'm not familiar with Fedora Core, but it probably like most. Check your statup directory or script and add named to the list of needed.

It's probably the children of DirectAdmin. When you see it starting multiple instances does it report that it can't because DirectAdmin is already running?

Hi, can you please tell me the startup directory for directadmin,
do you mean that directadmin starts some processes after fedora has finished starting up its list of proccesses, that means if i want to disable some processes then i have to look at both directadmin file for startup and init.d script for system as well, can you tell me where can i modify directadmin processes that ity startup automatically.

no the directadmin at startup never gives any error message about directadmin already running
