Hello experts,

Currently I am backing-up everything with DA. Now I'm thinking to store the backups offsite for additional security / redundancy. I want to ask what hosting company are you using for storing backups and which one is best?

I found backomatic but read some bad reviews about it.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

I don't know of any commercial backup solution that works with DirectAdmin backups by default. We built our own backup infrastructure. You can probably use a dedicated or virtual server somewhere and build your own solution. If so, then make sure the provider knows in advance what you're doing and check their terms of service; many offerings are just for webhosting, and not for high levels of inbound traffic or for storage for anything else except for publicly available websites.

We'd offer our backup service to others if we knew how to price it, but we've never been able to figture that out, as inbound traffic affects our transit cost.

Isn't that what I wrote directly above?

Of course you'll then be paying for bandwidth in both directions, so be sure to work with a hosting company to make sure you're getting what you need.

Thank you Jeff & Mr.Applesauce for the replies. Should I rsync my public_html directory or only the backup that is created by DirectAdmin. Is it possible to copy backups via scp with DirectAdmin?

Thank you.
