Open basedir and CGI ?

Hi and Merry Christmas to you all!

Question about open basedir and CGI enabled PHP... We are using CGI and when we enable openbase dir in the admin section there has no effect. There are no changes in the virtual conf?

Is open basedir supported in CGI mode and how can I access PEAR classes whithout open basedir?

Is the solution http://help.directadmin.com/item.php?id=183 in CGI mode ?

Apache can't control CGI program (its internal conf)
you can use argument -c to load own php.ini configuration
