Hello everyone,

I’ve recently installed DirectAdmin on AlmaLinux 9. My setup uses Apache as the web server. I disabled the mail services to save RAM usage since I’m using private email accounts from Namecheap for all my domains — so I don’t need the local mail server or related ports open.

Additionally, I installed Redis and OPcache because some of my scripts required them.

Now, I’m looking for advice on optimizing DirectAdmin after a fresh installation.
  • What tweaks, performance settings, or security adjustments do you recommend?
  • Are there any specific configurations or scripts you suggest for improving speed or reducing resource usage?
Any suggestions, best practices, or personal experiences are very welcome.

Thanks in advance!

switch apache against litespeed
Do you recommend LiteSpeed even for personal users who don’t have high-traffic websites?
For example, instead of using LiteSpeed Cache, I use other caching methods such as Redis or the WordPress Fastest Cache plugin.
In this case, is it still reasonable to purchase and use a LiteSpeed license?
