I have download outlook settings from directadmin email control panel. I have changed the smtp port to 587. the pop3 port stays the same 110. I have tested the connection in outlook, find out it's the pop3 problem. but I can send and receive email from webmail which build into directadmin. what's could be wrong?

the "127.0.0.1 localhost localhost" sentence is already in /etc/hosts
I want use the serer to send emails through smtp, that's all. I got a website installed with joomla but the mail function won't work. and gmail sends email too slow. so i want to use the exim to send email.
