page display

I made a page from scratch with Kompozer (my first experiment with website building) and uploaded it to my public_html directory, but it doesn't look at all like what I made when I click on the file in the directory; also, the picture I used as a background is not displaid, even thought I've also uploaded it. When I open the file in my browser, it does look more or less as it should.
I've probably missed some basic step somewhere...

Making HTML pages is an offtopic for this forum. Nevertheless, if you provide us with the link to your page, someone might help you.

As many time append to my customer, prolly the path of image or css or whatever are wrong.
