PHP c-client for Sugar Crm Module

Hi Guys wondering if anyone has done this or knows how to do it ?

I am running sugar CRM and want to enable the inboud emails but it shows this error message

Inbound Email cannot function without the IMAP c-client libraries enabled/compiled with the PHP module

We are running
Apache 1.3.37
Debian 3.1?
Php 4.4.4

Any help appreciated.
We are just a little worried trying to set up c-client with other users on the same server.
