Php & imap ..

Hi,
I'm thinking of recompiling PHP to include, for example, the IMAP modules.
Has anyone done this (and succeeded)? I've got a few Ensim servers, and recompiling PHP on those boxes it kinda hard; especially since after that most upgrades won't work any more.

Any ideas on this issue?
