Php safemode - DA v 1.27.5

Hi im new to Direct admin,
and have a question about PHP safe Mode?

I have done a search and found various threads
saying that to make it defaut for all users etc,
you have to manually edit the ini file.
But those threads are quite old now.

Is this still the case?
Direct Admin v 1.227.5?

I selected safe mode as default and saved the changes,
i was told that Direct Admin would restart in 1 min.

I have a php info page running,
but the settings still say Safe mode OFF
Local OFF
Master OFF


I know what ive just written makes it look like
the problem still exists.

Any guidence or advice appreciated
as i'm so new to this
