I have automatic updates on...guess that was my first mistake...but I really liked them until now. phpMyAdmin updated on 12/2/2011 and it has been throwing a 500 error ever since. This is really bad timing for me...so I haven't been able to do much as far as tracking down the error but it has been a month and i hoped another update would come through and fix it...I tried ./build phpmyadmin to no avail. Anyone else have this same issue? 500 are usually a quick fix... i also chmod f/d to 644/755 as I do run php-cgi.

Try:
chown -R webapps:webapps /var/www/html/phpmyadmin
Or whatever the folder is for phpmyadmin. If you use suphp it might be an ownership problem.
The error might be logged to the actual domain log you are accessing too.
Those files are in /var/log/httpd/domains/domain.com.error.log

You should try remove phpmyadmin folder from /var/www/html/phpmyadmin* and rebuild it

Rebuilt, same issue...found an old script in the process...in the scripts folder if you run the phpmyadmin script it install 2.11. If you build it using custombuild/build phpmyadmin it install 3.4.9. Sad thing for me is neither of them work.

suPHP...not sure about giving root access to my server...never used roundcube, if I install it how will I test to see if it works? You did see that squirrel mail isn't working either right? That probably happened around the same time but I have no idea as no one uses it.

roundcube is a webmail client no worries about that, if it work just remove it from /var/www/html/roundcube*
for test it just go to website/roundcube
