PHP redis version 5.x requires at least PHP 7.0, version 6.x requires at least PHP 7.2.

We are keeping extension version locked in 5.x series to have a wider PHP version support. Maybe now it is a good time to bump it to the 6.x.

Maybe now it is a good time to bump it to the 6.x.

Php 7.x series is EOL so i think that’s a good thing to do

yeah, I already drop php5 from all the servers. Only have 7.4+ to support customer as possible as I can.

Any update on this? v6.1 has fixes for upcoming 8.4 and more

@fln also added a feature request for LZ4 compression in CustomBuild:

Would be nice to have the LZ4 PHP extension available in CustomBuild to easily enable it. LZ4 is a fast compression tool for example for Redis / IGBinary.
