Hi

I am a complete newbie to this, so will really appreciate the help.

I have my domain registered with a separate company to my host.
I am trying to set up nameservers so that my domain will point to my server.

When setting up DNS in direct admin, should i be entering the name server names from the domain registrar, or the hosting company?

I have been trying for days to get this set up right, and feel that i have changed so many settings that the whole thing might be messed up at this point.

I have been using this as a guide: http://www.web-development-blog.com...and-name-server-for-a-directadmin-web-server/

But when it gets to the point about connecting to the server via SSH (use putty). i get completely lost.

Can anyone please help me before i become bald and withered.

Thanks
Dave

Also, the developer who is building my site wants to have FTP access, where can i find this in direct admin?

Is it your server? Do you manage it?

If so, start at the beginning, reading Site-Helper for Administrators. If you're a reseller, start with Site-Helper for Resellers. If you're a client of a hosting company, then you need to ask your hosting company.

We don't know what you changed, so if you don't know, it's going to be hard to help you; you may need to hire someone to log into your server and fix it for you.

That said, give us your domain name and your server IP# and we may be able to lead you in the right direction.
