Hello all,
Just very new with this.
I have running domain.com with two pointers: pointer1.com and pointer2.com
I understand that if I set the pointer as an alias it will forward all e-mail to the domain.com (right?)

I have an catchall email setup on the domain.com and I only set pointer1.com as alias.
Then I send an email to [email protected]... should that email appear in the catchall email of domian.com? (I hope so)

Thanks for your answer,
Patrick Schouten

When you set up an alias you do NOT get separate email addresses for the alias. Instead, all emails for alias.domain.com (for example) get put into the mailbox of the same name at domain.com. So it appears (untested by me) that yes, the catchall redirect should work. You should test it.

However you should seriously consider whether you want to use a catchall address; experience shows that domains using catchall addresses get lots of spam to the catchall address as many spammers send email to nonexistent but common email addresses, and all that spam will end up at the catchall email address.
