Pop account forward *and* delete

I need to be able to have an email-account on my domain which I want to give out as my email address, and that I use to send email from (in the TO field). However, I want to forward all of the email for that address to gmail.

If I have a POP email account *and* have it set up to forward all of that account's mail to gmail, I am still left with the emails sitting in the POP email account's folder (in addition to my emails in the gmail's inbox).

Is there any way to have the functionally I want and yet to not have a folder that keeps filling up with emails that are already forwarded to gmail? If not, is there any program (for the Mac, or that can reside on the Linux server) that will go into my POP folder and delete the emails that are still there?

Thanks

isn't there anybody who knows how to fix this or a script that you can use to delete forwarded mail?

Thanks

DA virtual domain email addresses (the ones you'd log into by [email protected]) are totally independent of the forwards. If you want a forward but don't want the email stored on the server, just delete the email box and leave the forward.
