Hi there.

When we create new POP email account. The actual mail box never get created in /home/user/mail/userdomain/. But we can login into the webmail using the account just created. When we send an email from the POP account to itself, then the mail box get created.

This is very strange !! hope this is not the normal behaviour of DA. Please help

Thanks

Ajith

Yes, this is normal behavior, I believe. Exim will create the mailbox when it tries to deliver something to it with the correct permissions, etc.

Why do you need an empty file in that folder?

This is the normal behavior of every POP client I know of when used in a mbox configuration.

Hi there.

Thank you so much for replies. The reason for posting this because I got an when I tried to send an email from outside to this accout. The error is "Mail failure - no recipient addresses". When use the webmail account it gives like like 550 error. After few emails, the actual email mbox created and .. and the email came to OK

Thank You

Ajith

That problem should NOT have occurred because there wasn't a mbox file; the server doesn't check senders by checking for the mbox files.
