Hi! I have a host server using directadmin and Exim email server.
The problem is, all my users have pop3 working perfectly but one!
I tried to create an account with his domain @client.com, and still I send emails to that account, and cannot download them to my local outlook software.
It finds the mail server, checks for new messages but says no new messages found.
If I access the Squirell Webmail I can see them in my Inbox.
When I try to access my email through UebiMiau webmail I cannot see them either. Weird ah?

My question is, what is happening and how can I fix it, and why is this only happening in that user email account ?
All other users work perfectly.

Thx in Advance!

Ok Real info.

We are using DirectAdmin 1.26.1 with exim and vm-pop3d installed (updated to vm-pop3d 1.1.7f-T7 to try to solve this issue with no success).
We have a user which has 2 domains (firestormpt.com and stormwarriors.net).
His mailboxes receive messages, and those messages can be seen from SquirrellMail (IMAP Webmail client).
However when trying to use OutlookExpress to download the messages or even when opening Uebimiau he cannot see the messages. Uebimiau doesnt show them, and Outlook Express gives no error and reports "No New messages found".
This is only happening to this user. THe user only has "User level" access.
All other users use their email accounts (domain associated) flawlessly.

What can be the problem?
Is there a fix?

It's going to require some forensic work.

I'd start by looking to see if the POP3 daemon is running, because both Outlook Express and UebiMiau use POP3 and Squirrelmail uses IMAP.

If all is good there, then I'd send an email then log in as root and check the mailfolder to see if there's anything in it.

The mail folder for a user account (domain owner) can be found in /var/spool/mail/username

The mail folder for a mail only account for a domain is in /var/spool/virtual/example.com/username

Hi! I already did that and the Daemon is started and mail is in the folder.
I already double-checked file/dir permissions and owner to check if it was owned by user:mail and 770 dir and 660 files.
Everything appears to be correct :(

The mail log doesnt present any errors just says nmsgs:0 when I try POP3 access.

Outlook doesnt output any error, just no messages found...
Seems a little odd...just one user...and for "luck" in his 2 assigned domains :S :S :S... too much coincidence dont you think?

Any ideas?

Have you looked in to the Exim maillog, see if Exim thinks anything is going on un-toward? run exim-stats and see if there is anything showing up there, queued messages that timeout and get deleted, has your exim conf been modified at all, maybe a timeout value is miss-set, have you upgraded IMAP for anyother reason?

just some thoughts

I already sorted the problem out.
Installed Dovecot :)
Didnt patch well at first, had a little help from DA support, and now everything works like a charm!

Thx DA support!
And thx all of you who replied to help me!
