I discovered the hard way this morning that Admin Backup/Transfer (run over the weekend to move the complete user-base of one server to another) didn't transfer the /etc/virtual/limit_USERNAME files.

Hopefully this will get fixed fairly quickly; until then you may want to remember to move them manually.

Thanks for this hint!

Very nice to know.

I suppose also that admin user backup should include his own limit and the "general" limit too.

That was a fast reply to a brand new thread :).

The admin user is a valid user and the limit_admin file should be included if it exists and the admin is being backed up. In my opinion the default shouldn't be included at all, since if you're moving to a new server you wouldn't want to use the old server's default limit but the new server's one.

And if it's just a backup, not for restore except in an emergency, then you may not want the old default limit written over the new one.

Of course if you're moving sites to an entirely new server you'd then need to change the default limit yourself if you don't like the installed default, but that seems like a reasonable tradeoff to me.

As default afaik there is no a default value, and, if an admin choose a value for security reason and increment for each user so maybe would be nice to have it asell, but ofc that's my own opinion :)

Problem as I see it is that when you do a backup there's no way to know if it's for a whole server or not, so how would you know not to overwrite an already set default on a server if you're just moving one or two users.

Yes i agree with that, that's why i was thinking just about admin user, should be supposed that if you're restoring an admin user, you would take that user as a "main setup" of the server.
