Our company decided to switch to Direct Admin just a few day ago, and ask the server service provider to install it into our server. After the software is installed, I noticed something strange in License page. The "Name in License" section say "Demo Hosting Company". So I wonder if our license is valid or not.

In case of the software is not legal, what should we do next?

I've already email to Direct Admin support (via [email protected]) but still no response yet. The email was from December 7th (8 days ago!). I was re-send the email to help support staff easier to find-out the email.

Hope to here from you soon. Thank you.

Hello,

If you rent a server from a hosting company and they installed a license for you, it's OK to see their company name in a license, as it's they who owns the license, unless you paid $300 USD to get one for your own (or other prices from here: https://www.directadmin.com/pricing.php)

The license is valid on per IP bases, in order to make sure it's valid you can try and update license through Directadmin. If license is not valid you will get an error. If license update goes fine, you can rest assured it's OK.

I cannot attach a screenshot but below is the information in License/ Update section. The License ID and Client ID is 0!!!
The hosting company offers a free DA license for those who use their service in term of 1 year or longer. Now I pretty sure that the its a crack/nulled version.

What should we do next?

Ok that looks strange to me, you should be able to see LIcense ID and Client ID.

I guess the best thing to do is contact (as you did) [email protected] or even open a ticket on tickets.directadmin.com and see what do they say.

Best regards

Yes, it seems to be a nulled version, and the incident should be reported to Directadmin owners.

Server Version 1.43.0

and very outdated, which does not support modern features. For Custombuild2 DirectAdmin 1.46 or later is recommended

I can provide a valid licences for each server either virtual or dedicated which you buy from us, we already have thousand licenses.
