pre/post script to monitor accounts

Is there a specific pre/post.sh for this? Or do we need to use the all_pre/post.sh?

Reason is, sometimes my script for the DA API misfires, therefore accounts could be still active/disabled. I'd like to email myself to notify the call was successful. I assume the scripts still run in the API environment?
