Problem : exim not started

exim not started

/usr/local/etc/rc.d/exim start
showing : Bad system call (core dumped) ...

on FreeBSD 4.10

Check the /var/log/exim/*.log 's This will hopefully give some extra info.

Otherwise check your kernel log's. As this looks more like kernel problems.

In "/var/log/exim / " no log
With a nucleus too like everything is all right
Error line in message log :
/kernel: pid 96478 (exim), uid 0: exited on signal 12 (core dumped)

I reinstalled anew FreeBSD 4.9

I would recommend 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2. As 4.9 has some issues with certain server boards and offcourse the new versions are more up-2-date
