Forum,
I was hoping maybe some of you guys more experienced in installing DirectAdmin on red hat 9 could shed some light on a couple of probable minor install issues.
Problem 1
When I use ssh to login to red hat 9 and install-it works fine.. asks for client id, license, etc. Installs... Then when it gets to the updating part, it tries about 25 times to download the file but fails..
I emailed the support/sales staff. Here is what Mark had to say:
"Hi Scott,
Went onto your system and found this:
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:06:5B:1F:515
inet addr:192.168.1.101 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
DirectAdmin licensing will not work behind a LAN/NAT setup. Your primary ethernet device MUST be bound to a real internet IP address (the same one in your license file). That's probably giving you the problems.
Mark
What Doesn't Make Any Sense
I have a cable modem connected to my router which is connected to computer 1 (.100) and server1 (.101) -My ip address: 66.115.120.160 (when queried) is forwarded to my server (.101)
As we speak I am able to host: http://www.websierra.com and post this message to you guys. So what may be the problem..
Thanks,
