Hi all, I've some problems using the preview link that clients can use before the domain name is propagated.
The clients receive an email saying you can preview your website via a link like http://ipadres/~username but its not always working, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.
Is there anyway to make it work when it isn't?

Hope te receive some help :)

Sure, rewrite the site entirely in simple HTML.

Many sites don't work unless they're addressed at their domain name. This may depend on how you've developed your site and how you've written your links.

Otherwise you can assign an IP# to the site through your local hosts file. Every OS with an Internet stack has a hosts file. Your job is to find it and add the IP# followed by a tab character and the domain name.

It may be necessary to restart yor browser afterwards.

Don't forget to remove the line after the site propagates.

Please don't ask me how to do this under MS Windows; I don't know.

Thnx for your help, but the hosts file has this data already. :(
There is no website on yet, just the default .html that directadmin creates in the directory.
When a user account is created the user receives an automated email from direcadmin containing all the login data, in this email it states that before propogation is complete the website can be visited by http://ip/~username only this is not working atm.

Any more suggestions maybe?
